Smokin'
I recently finished a major service on my 2002 4.4 with 102K including the Beisan vanos seal repair, timing chain guides, valley pan (which it turns out I didn't need yet), plugs, H20 pump and thermostat, hoses, pre-cat sensors, and etc. When I put it together I mixed up the vacuum hose to the back of the intake manifold and the oil return tube from the CCV under the manifold. Yeah.
Took it on a test drive for a couple miles and put it back in the garage to clean and wax it. Next time I started it it smoked me out. Shut it down and figured out what I did. Took it apart to get to the CCV hose connection under the intake and after getting it together it still really smokes. Copiously. Also throws Peake reader codes 50 and 51 for secondary air both banks and 22 for vanos control #5-8. Do I just need to drive it more to clear the residual oil? It starts and runs flawlessly. Any ideas?
