How to remove door pull piece??

First shot is my 2002 X5 door pull that has alot of paint issues.
How do I remove that part ....hopefully without removing the door panel?? I want to sand and repaint them all.

Also is there a DIY page for dash wood trim removal? Mine has a very light colored wood that disgusts me. LoL
I want to trade it for some dark wood or just paint it.

Lastly what is this in the back seat area? It has a sliding door on it but I see nothing inside it.
