I don't remember which fuse... I think the same as the cig lighter in the front console... But when mine was not working I was still able to use the rear buttons.

If you didn't know...not all e53 X5 has the same fuses in the same location.

Help us help you better by creating a signature that contains your model/model year/build date. That way we can provide specific info based on fact...and not have to guess or supply incorrect info due to one or more of the multiple changes that occurred in production from 1999-2006.

For example...the image below is of the rear fuses in my 06...(looks like fuse #77 controls the adjusting elec rear seat backs:

You can compare the rear fuses in the image below of a pre-facelift e53 X5...not all of the fuses are in the same location:

DUH.....
the rear switches work, so decided to check fuse then manual.......
child-lock when engaged also disable reclining rear seats through the ceiling switches. Everything work as design.

Always refer to manual

the rear glass lock switch, that disables the rear glass from operating will disable the reclining...

did you mean that switch (on driver's door) or the mechanical switch in the rear door panels that is allowing the rear doors to be opened from outside only?

Yes it has a little green light when activated. Press it again to disable it and see if the rear recliners work.
