Buying a 10 year old car with that low of mileage always scares me. When a car only gets driven 3k miles a year gaskets, hoses etc.. tend to dry rot. I had a friend who purchased a 2001 528i with only 50k on it recently. In the past 6 months I have had to do a vanos rebuild, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, hoses, air conditioning compressor replacement, rubber brake lines, power steering hose and two oil hoses.

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
It bothers me to no end when the listing description shows "transmission: manual" and then I look at pics to see an AUTO

Nicely equipped too and looks clean as hell, regardless of the low miles I would still be replacing bushings and other rubber hoses, gaskets etc preventatively, even if the car is driven a lot at the age of those parts they will need replacement and probably show cracking signs.

Calipers are hella rusted for so few miles. My calipers were not that rusty when I just refinished at 175k miles. Makes me wonder if this is a saltwater flood recovery vehicle (NY location, can you say Sandy?).

Would hafta check the cargo area with one of those special lamps that'll show blood stains... suspect the car was garaged til things cooled down after that deal that went bad...

Some bad reviews online about the seller (EMC and Matt, the owner), this guy agrees to fix problem items at time of sale and then never returns buyers calls and e-mails, selling "carefully driven" cars that, in fact, he picked up at auction, cars needing total engine rebuilds shortly after purchase, cars with NON-OE repair parts, cars with bodys full of bondo, cars that he tells purchasers just need alignment/wheel balance when in fact have bent wheels.........the bad reviews abound. This place is a true "NY used car dealer".

Rusty calipers indicate salt exposure that was left unattended. I'd like to see what the chassis looks like - any fastener corrosion to deal with?. Also less than 4000 miles a year might indicate nothing but short trips - the absolute worse thing for engine oil life. I'd wouldn't be surprised to find evidence of condensation inside the valve cover, and I'd definitely look at the CCV right away.

It looks super clean, but I tend to stay away from northern salt belt vehicles when it comes to considering used cars.

Yeah, all wheel drive utility vehicles are the go to when roads are bad. High reserve on auction, over KKB top condition value. Big wear lip on rear rotor in pic for 38k miles, this X has been driven HARD!
