Just checking in, wanted to introduce myself. From the SoCal area currently living in Del Mar San Diego but from Los Angeles. Found this forum to be very informative and active compared to others.

Mercedes guy but have owned a '02 330ci, then '04 M3 SMG then 04 645i vert in the past.

Just sold my '06 CLS500 for a 05 E55 that I'm heavily modifying right now so in the market for a daily and I have always enjoyed the body of the E53 X5's.

Thinking of purchasing a X5 this weekend as a daily driver. There are a couple others however this one as of now is on top of the list.

X5 I will be viewing this weekend ...

My CLS w/full 63 conversion

My E55 the day I dropped her off at the shop. Should be completed within the next month or so

Thank you and yes I do enjoy modifying my cars. Have been doing so for some time. I can't wait for the E55 to be done, its been a dream car for some time and finally got around to purchasing one from a friend.

I have searched the forum and it seems that no one has done a 04+ front end conversion on pre-04.

Is it that uncommon to do the face lift?

Welcome!

Drive the E55, mod the X!!!

I know of at least one member here that did the conversion...the thread may be in the articles/tips and tricks section (overhead navigation menu).

It's not something for everyone as there's more to it than just swapping body parts. If you can't find the thread, let me know and Ill dig it out!

LOL I plan on doing very minor OEM modifications to the X but I will be installing a full custom sound system once I find one. The E55 is going thru a very extensive mod processes she is a project I should of started years ago

I was able to find the thread regarding the face lift ... it's very extensive and I think I'll pass on it.

Thanks for the help offer tho

I hope so to. The seller only has time on the weekends to show the vehicle otherwise it would of been mine already. It is actually a 01 4.4 he did some upgrades to the vehicle however as you can see.

My fingers are crossed, feel in love with it the minute I came across the ad

I did not see your build thread. I will search for it tonight .. I will def. post a thread when I start on the system I plan on gutting the entire thing out

I don't see too many DIY threads either. I'm a long time member on a couple other MB forums and there are a TON of DIY threads.

I might have to start posting some once I get the truck
