Hand free bluetooth problems after auxiliary installation

Hi everyone,

Hope someone can help me. I have installed auxiliary input in the business CD radio, thanks to the info I found on this forum.

It works great, I have wired it into the ashtray for convenience instead of suggested glove compartment. But it is not about this.

So AUX works but now when I get calls, I can respond and it shown on the screen all of the info and music stops but there is no sound. People on the other side can hear me but no audio on my side.

I did some research and figured the plug that I had to disconnect in order to connect AUX had something to do with this issue.

Please, if someone knows how to get both things to work, help!
Don't want to have to choose between having aux(as I invested money and time into it already) or hands free.

Will appreciate any suggestions!
Thank you!

Pull the fuse in the trunk for the BT, and insert. Happened to me once or twice. Seems this resets it.

did you have to replace the actual pins for the AUX to function? pull the original pins, push the AUX pins? or, you just pulled the plug, inserted the pins into empty slots? so, your AUX was not prewired? give us a bit more info on which procedure you used for the AUX installation, and what else you have in your car - BT, maybe separate SES module (you did not say what year you car), maybe DSP... it is apparent that the car does not have Nav...

give us a bit more info, please... and create some signature, so we skip some questions in the future...

Hi, I had the same problem. The plug you removed to fit the one for the aux is the one sending phone call sound to the speakers. The solution is easy, you have to remove the cables of the plug for aux and insert them in the corresponding place on the plug you removed. You will see that the corresponding locations for the cables of the aux are empty on the plug you removed. Then both Bluetooth and aux work.

I have the same setup and same problem after the install. We were actually trying to troubleshoot it here on the forum and it wasn't working.

If I remember correctly, you don't end up removing any cables from the back of the radio, you just add on to it the wiring harness an additional 2 wires for the aux.

But right now I have the red light on the dash for the phone and I tried removing the fuses and connecting via DIS and it's not working.

I have unplugged the black plug that was in the place where I suppose to plug the aux. I will try to do what Constantinos suggested, this is probably a good solution.

Btw, I have 2005 E53 with Business CD Radio, no navigation.

I will update later today if it works out.

Thanks!
