Your AUX INPUT jack

Where do you guys install it? I thought about the glove box...but to me its somewhat inconvenient. The center console pocket? The ash tray? I was considering the little loction between the passenger seat heater button and the Tire pressure reset button.......but i dont know.

Looking for some ideas....

My iS had it in the glove box.
If I do it, I would have it on the trim piece, housing the DSC, trunk release…. The same as your last idea.

My only concern to that is, would the trim piece get loose overtime....

I really like this location however.

I have mine in the ash tray...cheaper to replace if you mess up. It's not as simple to put it in that center trim piece as everyone thinks. That was my initial preferred location as well...until I open up that trim piece to find a full length circuit board behind it, even for the area where there are no buttons.

Can we see a pic of yours. I cant find a logical way of installing it there.

I have my ipod adapter interface in my armrest currently, but I dont find that it is a good location as it also doubles as an iphone charger or I plug in my iPhone 5 to use my Sirius app with my interface, Pandora, etc. Sometimes at a stop light you want to pull up the phone/ipod and change stations, songs, etc and its kind of a pain to pop the armrest up and pull out the phone, make sure its tucked back in place and close it etc.

So I think I'm going to relocate my iPod cable to the center cupholder, for a couple reasons:

A) I barely have anything other than a bottle of water in the car or cupholder, hell I can't even get 2 iced coffees in the front cupholder, my wife puts one in the cupholder and i use the rear for the other.

B) It would be nice to slide the cupholder cover closed when not in use, or when in use and would be nice and discreet

C) I can stop contorting myself when I have to open the armrest and plug in my phone or iPod

Based on all that you are doing, have you considered one of the aftermarket options that does it all using existing controls? It would be very clean and keep you from throwing your back out.

I have a mediabridge that among other features has a USB connector. I removed the tray for ashes and used the existing hole below to connect to the mediabridge. I didn't secure the USB connector as I wanted the cable long enough to be able to keep my iPhone charged when I play music. It's easy to get to and disappears when I close the cover. I connect by bluetooth most of the time but it is there if I need it.

You mean like a mediabridge?

I have a USA Spec and very happy with it, I like having direct control of my phone functions/ipod functions at my hand if needed, so no complaints there. I just wanted to move it somewhere more accessible, as opposed to opening the armrest and "fishing for it" with my hands, I think sliding open the cupholder is better.

If/When I replace my wood trims I'll probably relocate the iPod cable to the cupholders at that time.
