Door handle carrier question (Yes, I've done the search)

First of all, while I really like this truck, it does seem that Kia Rio has better designed door handle mechanism. $67K BMW and we're dealing with this. While I have no problem with installing it as it's fairly easy, it's little bit disappointing by BMW standards.

Case here: Driver side replaced 2 years ago by previous owner, passenger side is starting to get difficult to open from outside.

My question is this:

By buying the $100 OEM carrier, aren't we doomed to have failure again since this part failed in the first place.

I'm not fan of Uro, but there is the Febi brand carrier out there and while I've had good and bad experience with the brand, I wonder if their design is better in this case. Plus the fact that's 1/2 the price of OEM unit.

So, anybody out there installed aftermarket one or was able to fix the actual problem and reinstall the original carrier?

Thanks.
