There's a lot of discussion about the e70 diesels on the e70 forum. If interested in this model...I highly recommend reading & searching that forum. There's a lot of stuff to learn about the diesel's emissions system...its a whole new world of new acronyms to learn.
Also...be aware that there are probably 3 major recalls for the 2011 X5...check to see if they've been taken care of (using the VIN on BMWUSA.com)...driver's side airbag, front passenger airbag, and front drive shaft. If not, and you do buy, make sure that you register with BMW USA so that you will be contacted when your local BMW dealership has recall parts in stock to get you taken care of.

There is no 3.5 diesel! It is just symbol on doors! But diesel is good! I would get 2012-2013 E70 3.0d triturbo M50d with 381hp! Rocket! 5-6 seconds and 100km/h! Do not get gear box with 6 gears! Facelift started since 2011 with 8 gears!
