That sucks!

I spoke with Ron S. when I was checking it out at the dealer yesterday, was informed the T/As are selling for at least $20k over sticker.

I would only buy an older Jeep wrangler or cherokee (with the box body) with the 4.0 I6 those are tanks. But still congrats on the new jeep. I would have personally gotten a VW touareg with the 5.0 V10 TDI

Any update??? How does the Jeep compare to the X5??

Enquiring minds want to know if you're happy with your swap.

Exactly, I've have owned a couple of Grand Cherokees and a Grand Wagoneer and they are nice vehicles. Every now and then I see a new Grand Cherokee going down the road and its tempting. But my 2001 X5 with 192K miles still rides better, looks great and has never left me on the side of the road. So if I have spent some serious bucks over the years with repairs? I'm still tens of thousands of dollars ahead of spending the money on a new anything.

I've owned a Cherokee Laredo and a Grand Cherokee... I'll never buy another Jeep SUV again. I had the freeze plugs fall out of the engine on the Cherokee and the grand cherokee was in the shop more than on the road and it was purchased brand new.

Here's the update... its a hard compare since one is 2012 and the other is 2003.

The x5 handled obviously much better; (car based suv). And it was manual, so its a different experience. Much better feel of the road.

The overland however is much more powerful then the 3.0 and the 4.4 with similar gas mileage. Plus the overland has every option you can think of, and thus being new, everything works

Plus with the snow, it feels much better. But it has smaller wheels vrs the x5 20" wheels.

Still early to compare, but its more of an off-road capable machine, which I plan to do (as i did with my older 4runner).

I mean its really going from a car to a pickup truck in the end. So its not for everybody !
