Unhappy Truck Driver Destroys Moonroof Glass with Rock, IS there a how-to replace guide?

As the title reads, I was driving around all day yesterday trying to secure a lawyer (long story, my brother is being charged with some heavy shit for being involved in an auto accident they think he caused purposely, although he has seizures and had one when he crashed) and I was driving down the freeway when a big rig threw a huge rock (I'm talking at least 3 pounder) at us. I swerved but it got the moonroof and it completely destroyed it (shattered it completely)

Here it is:

Anyways, is there a how to on replacing it? The motor was working up until the point it smashed, I haven't opened it yet because there is a huge hole in the glass and it is sticking up at the impact point, so I don't want to fuck with it. EDIT: I should note, the hole is now gone, as the whole glass shattered.

I tried the search function, couldn't find much.

I should also note that insurance is out of the question as it is a comprehensive claim and my deductible is high, so I think it would be ultimately cheaper to do it myself.

It's not a Pano. It is just a regular moonroof/sunroof. And Comprehensive is $1000.

That's tempered glass, get some duct tape or other sticky material to hold together the remain of the sunroof. If you put it on top have somebody underneath to hold the glass where you are pressing. If you don't get something to hold the tiny bits of glass together keep the sunshade close. And don't try opening the moonroof or else the rest of the glass will come down on you.

That picture was taken approximately 2 minutes after the accident happened. Unfortunately, the hole got bigger and the glass shattered completely. I can't open the lid from the inside becuase the glass is blocking it from opening. I need to tape it up with a plastic tarp or something for now because it it supposed to rain in 2 fucking days (52 day drought and now the fucking rain wants to come! ) I just need to find a way to replace this.

It's easy to replace the grass. Just get one from a junkyard and replace it.
You can remove the rubber accordion seal on each side and you will see the bolts.
Pull carefully from the bottom, the accordion rubber seal stays with the glass.

In your case I would get rid of the broken glass and then remove the bolts.
When you have the glass it shouldn't take you more than an hour.

There is a sunroof DIY/PDF link in one of the MOTHERLODE threads. This thread has links to lots of PDFs that you can download and save to your CPU for future reference.

Click this link then scroll down the list to look for the REMOVE SUNROOF diy: Index of /pdf/e53

And here's a link that has a list of links to downloadable BMW PDFs that are invaluable...I highly recommend downloading them ALL to a folder on your CPU...even if you don't have the BMW that it may be about. You may own that BMW in the future...or one that has the feature/option that is being discussed: http://www.xoutpost.com/978997-post15.html
