My X n the Snow

Finally had the chance today to experience the capability of an e53 in the snow! I must say I am highly impressed.

Braking is "normal". Antilock kicks in like any other vehicle would.

Turning is awesome. I can feel and hear the whole system reacting. A couple times I tried to pitch it sideways coming out of a turn and the X stopped me from trying! Yes it has some under steer, but at slower speeds it will corect that. This vehicle totally straighten up and proceeded forward. The whole time I'm trying to make it spin out!

Acceleration was insane. I started at the bottom of a hill and pegged the throttle just to see. The X simple clawed it's way up hardly breaking a tire loose. Very impressed with the throttle control.

I then took it to an empty parking lot, turned off the traction control, and had some fun

I'm running perelli scorpions.

Just thought I'd share my impressions

How much snow did you get?

My X is pretty bad in deep snow, but great in light snow. Anything over 2 inches or so and it's all over the place when braking or turning. Acceleration is great in any condition, but braking and steering not so much.

where up to about 2feet of snow I`m using nord frost 5 winter tires studless. when I had the all seasons it would slide around and not stop as good ,but with the winters are awsome.

I am running Yokohama all seasons. They are great in light snow, rain, dry... heavy snow it's horrible though. I have to give myself a ton of extra room for braking, have to almost stop before turning. Next winter I'm definitely going with dedicated snow tires/wheels. It just wasn't in the budget this year.

They are saying our snow totals for this winter are up around 60 inches so far. Last year this time we had gotten around 5 inches. Nuts.
