Self level sups inactive!!!

Hi all!

After seeing if anybody has had the same issue as this before. Car (2001 X5 4.4) has had this error message on and off since i got it a year ago. i cured it the first time after an check by the local stealer and changed the rear left sensor with one of ebay. Happy days. 3 months later same error. I then deploy and leave the car at home as i am in the military. When i came back the car is down at the back (as expected). Turn on the car on and it pumps up but on one side only. i have now changed both rear sensors for brand new from BMW and i have change both rear air springs for brand new from arnott. It seems the left side (red line) is not charging at all. anybody got any ideas as to where to look next? Cheers for the help!

Stan

Ok, so you replaced both bags and level sensors and you have the message. Now when you replaced them and got everything back together. Did the pump come on and fill the bags up; well the right bag from what you are saying... or is the rear still dead?

Once that pump kicks on, it should fill both bags. If after you rechecked everything, you may need to get the system calibrated with GT-1. In the DIS, you are able to set the height and the computer is able to raise or lower each corner, 2 in your case.

Also, please place your X's info in your signature much like I have.

Thanks.

Okay, I have done some more investigating today. the pump runs as it should, and when it should. however it still only pumps up one side. I have opens the the compressor housing and checked voltage on on both plugs for both solenoids. Both are at approx 12Vdc when the pump runs. I then removed both solenoids and both operate as they should. Now the solenoid operates the spool valve to let air fill up the air tank. I think i can now only assume that the although the solenoid is operating the spool must be seized into position preventing that side from inflating. So it must be reasonable to presume the signals are good and it is a bad spool valve. Any thoughts??
