Question e53 grille, facelift fits on?

Dear all, hi

I got a question about e53 grille.

Does 00-02' grille fits on 03-06' of e53? I mean do these two models have exact same facelift or grille? Just found hot grille but it didn't say the year, only the name and spell of e53 written on the ads... I know they have pretty different headlights but the grille area? I saw it on wikipedia (in the "2003 Facelift" paragraph), mentioning about the facelift, but people in my area say "e53 is the e53, should be same".

From wikipedia,
In July 2003, the X5 LCI (Life-Cycle Impulse) was presented for the 2004 model year at the IAA 2003 in September, with new headlights, a few new exterior colors, a new four-wheel drive system and upgraded engines. The grilles were enlarged, as well as their actual slats being modified in a 'flame surfaced' style. In keeping with the E39 facelift of 2001, the 2004 X5's headlights got corona rings around all four headlamp projectors. The tail-lights also received a facelift similar to the BMW E39, and the exterior glass went from a "dotted" pattern to a cleaner "line" pattern. BMW invented a new four-wheel drive system dubbed xDrive shared both in the X5 and X3 in 2004. Instead of using the previous X5 system which consisted of power being split 62-38 (rear wheels-front wheels) and DSC to brake wheels losing traction, xDrive could vary power to the front or rear axles in milliseconds, transferring up to 100% of engine power to either axle, thus allowing the vehicle to regain traction quickly.
Please help me for the issue before I buy wrong item,

thanks

Well people can say a lot of things that ain't necessarily true.
Those new facelifted grills won't fit your car unfortunately..

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
No. Front bumper grilles and headlights and fenders are all different on 00-03 and 04-06 models.

Fog lights are the same mounting points but different housings, and are interchangeable

As already advised by other members ,the facelift grills WILL NOT fit y0ur pre-facelift X5,unless your prepared to modify the bonnet and protected it after you cut away at it (no need to repray it!).
A russian guy has done it before ,but it wasnt a perfect install ..looks weid(see black car).I bought a set of facelift grills and will doing the mod soon .I have taken all measurements and it should look something like this...LEFT pic !

Another way to tell if the facelift grills fit the pre-facelift models is...to pull up the hood diagram and see if both models have the same 11 digit part nbr for the hood. If they do, then that means the openings for the grill are the same, and only the design of the kidney grills are different.

Since the answer has already been given, I bet when you look up the hood's part nbr...there will be TWO different part nbrs...or a specific date given in the TO/FROM column indicating there's a difference. But if it's like the e39 & e38 models where the hood is the same throughout the production run (only 1 part nbr except for the early 750iL which had a steel hood or aluminum hood option), the kidney grill design changed but you can mount either style grill in the openings.

Hey, thank you guys,

These advises were really helpful, and very fast.

Ok, i won't buy this item tho. But do you guys know if there is a one look like this?

The photo attached is the one I'm talking about, and I want exactly one like this. The ads says and titles "CrazyTheGod E53 X5 Grille M6Look Black for BMW 3.0i/3.0d/4.4i/4.6is", also they describe it on the Product Description line:
"E53 X5 1999-2003 Grille Flat Black for BMW You Receive One Set of Front Grille Fits on BMW X5 E53 Pre-Facelift 1999-2003 model Direct bolt-on installation in OEM fitment, no modification needed Made of ABS STRONG Plastic Item does not come with instruction, professional installation is recommended. NOT BMW Original Parts, It's aftermarket product TOP quality."
See link below,
CrazyTheGod E53 X5 Grille M6Look Black for BMW 3.0i/3.0d/4.4i/4.6is : Amazon.com : Automotive

How tripping? huh I don't wanna argue but...

How does this look like, anyone knows where I could buy one look like this /M6 facelift/, that fits on my 2001 e53???
