Fixed my parking sensor

I have had the X5 for about a month now and the parking sensor hasn't worked since I got it. I would just get a continuous beep and a flashing pdc light when reverse selected. Did a scan with PC soft and it said all 4 rear sensors were crook. Highly unlikely I thought, probably more like wiring fault. Did some searching on the net and found this.

Sure enough, the plug was unplugged. Plugged it back in and lo and behold, PDC works. Can only guess it was the idiot that installed the reversing camera as there is single green wire that goes right past the socket and into the tailgate. Plug and socket located on the right side rear under plastic cover (under cargo floor) in right back corner.

Cheap fix

I didn't take a picture as I fixed it, but if you look in the rear right corner under the floor panel, there is a plastic section at about 5 o'clock (if you are looking at the spare wheel) which is held in by 2 10mm nuts. Remove that and you should see a wiring plug and socket that is clipped to the bodywork behind the bumper (inside the car) in the back right corner. It is just underneath the tie down tab on the cargo floor in the right rear corner.

I hope my description makes sense.

I had a problem with a PDC sensor on a 2001 X5. Turned out to be a faulty sensor. But there is a way to figure out which one(s) is (are) the problem.

Turn on the ignition and shift into reverse (without engine running) and put your ear up next to each sensor. You can hear a faint ticking sound from each functioning sensor. A faulty sensor will be silent. Of course it helps if there isn't much ambient noise because they are hard to hear. But once you know what to listen for, it's pretty easy to find the faulty sensor(s).

I have a faulty front left corner sensor on my 06 4.8is. Anyone know if I have to remove front bumper for access or does another point of access exist?

My PDC hasn't worked since I bought the car.
Just now getting around to fixing it.
The same connector is possibly the issues.

I started de-pinning all the pins to clean them but I broke one by accident.
I wonder if these pins can be bought separately.
