Sounds like a blockage somewhere if you got oil leaking out of the CCV. Shouldn't have that much oil in the CCV that it will leak out unless it sucking oil from the crankcase.

Don't run the engine until you have it sorted out or you will be the second person today that reported that they bent and broke a rod on their hydrolocked engine.

Just curious

- engine oil & filter change interval ?
- do you have the orig design oil separator n related hose / tubes ( pre cold weather part without the rubber insulation )?
- is the vehicle parked outside , frequent idling and driven less than 5 miles city driving
Or better described the vehicle driving patterns

My 2 cents

- if this one turns out to be the dreaded oil separator
GET the updated parts "cold weather"

Good luck !

no oil leaking out the ccv system ,looks like all went out the exhaust or internially in the engine somewhere. ( alot went out the exhaust see it in the snow and smelled it in the house.

Hopefully you removed all the spark plugs before trying to start the engine so that if the cylinders were filled with oil, you wouldn't have hydrolocked the engine.

Remember when the cylinder becomes filled with oil what you have done is just turn a combustion engine into a hydraulic pump and unlike a hydraulic ram which allows the ram to move and not destroy itself, the hydraulic forces in a cylinder has no where to go but bends the weakest link which is usually the piston rods.
