Question on 2001 m62 4.4L compression number
Hi.
I've purchased 01 4.4L with about 110,000miles for $2000. The prices was low due to smoky exhaust on start up. Also CEL P0011. P0011 seems to be timing chain guide. Which will be worked on later. But before I tackle this, I started with compression test to make sure smoke is not something to do with valve ring. After compression test, here are numbers 1. 180 2. 180 3. 190 4. 195 5. 190 6. 190 7. 190 8. 190 Seems pretty good, but the concern is that when I removed spart plugs, there were soaked with engine oil, especially on cylinder 3,4,7 and 8. Since cylinders were wet already, I cannot really perform leak down test either. What do you guys think? Should I tackle this? Or just part out? Thanks. |
