Newbie Questions

2 weeks of ownership and I learn something new about the X5 every time I drive it. So there are a few things I'm wondering about ....

The outside mirrors. Both of them are quiet loose on their horizontal axis. They can move about a bit like, like for example if I brake reasonably hard they can be seen to lurch forward on their hinge. Is this normal ? Also, was in the car wash today and I pressed the button to fold in the mirrors. They folded, but about 3 seconds later the near-side one extended again. Repeated the procedure and the same thing happened. What's going on there ?

The central interior air vent. Again in the car wash I felt a very small amount of water coming through the vent, as the dryer was blowing directly on the outside air intake between the bonnet and the windscreen. Also a lot of wind noise can be heard through the vent when travelling at high speed. Normal ?

The SAT NAV. Appears to have power in the back of the car but is just not appearing on the inside display at all. It will take in the CD, read it for a while then spit it back out. Almost immediately it'll suck it back in again and do the same thing over in a loop. I've a separate thread on here about that .... but anyone got any ideas ?

The CD changer cable (3 and 6 pin cable) was cut by some genius who owned the car before me. Someone suggested this might be because the previous owner had a DICE unit fitted, but I doubt it. I mean, why would you cut the cable ??

Is the car equipped with bluetooth or not ? I mean, how can I tell ?

The phone in the centre armrest. I saw somewhere that there is a genuine BMW part available where you can remove the slot the phone sits in and replace it for one that fits my iPhone. But they're only listed against the later model X5. Would it work in mine I wonder ?

The handbrake. It needs adjusting because it's only barely engaging when it's pulled hard. Anyone know of a DIY thread on here somewhere that might point me in the right direction ?

The dash display - where the speedo is. Anyone know any tricks on how to get all those little pixels back working again ? I can barely make out what the info display is saying to me half the time.

Engine oil. Sometimes when I switch the car off the little audible warning bell is heard and the info display tells me to check the engine oil. So I did, and the level looks fine to me. Any ideas ??

The headlights. The car has these auto-levelling things on it. I know that because there's no headlight beam adjustment wheel inside the car. But they're pointed right down on the road when the car has no load in it. I mean really - I can only see a few yards of the road ahead of me. Can the level be adjusted ?

That's all I can think of for now. It's a great car, I love it. But it'd be so nice to get all the above sorted !
