Tail light replacement

I have been reading up a bit to find out that the tail lights burning through new bulbs on a daily on my 2001 x5 is a typical problem many have had. Haven't seen a lot of advice for replacement though... Is it as simple as just buying a new light assembly and swapping? Or is there something more I need to do to to fix the problem....

LED taillights will swap right in, for your prefacelift model. No more annoying "Check brake light" message.
It will also update the rear end look, win-win mod.

^what kind of headlights? Hopefully not some aftermarket junks.

The only aftermarket headlights you should get are these, the popular ones tmv used to have on his 3.0 are not available.

Hefty coin though at almost 650 bucks for a set. If you have an 01 I can build you a set of headlights with angel eyes at half the price using your stock Xenon's, but you'd have to send them to Jersey.
