Fuuuuuuuuu to this $90k nightmare!!

Let me first say this is was my first non 'merican! vehicle I have ever owned and kind of broke my dad's heart buying it as he is a retired GM engineer But seriously... is this the best that BM* could come up with when selling a vehicle for $90k?? ( I just keep cleaning it up, checking for leaks and reinstalling ). and yes, I drive 20m to and from work everyday. So there is plenty of time for it to boil off and I do not neglect the big guy! yes, I do have the "mystical blue smoke syndrome too

Let's see some of your best peanut butter shots??

Hey at least your CCV's are cheap and easy to change out, I'd be doing them yearly if I owned an N62.

Now the blue smoke, that's your valve stem seals and most get it done for about $2500, or buy the tool set for about $700 and DIY

Yeah you could do it before as well diy method, just that most diy'ers didnt have the exact tools for that kind of engine and valve work..

AGA kit just simplifies everything by giving you exactly whats needed and clear instructions..

I will most likely be doing mine before summer.

You may understand him wrong...

I rip my car around and actually use its performance and abilities...

Then again i also care for the car and am 100% on top of maintainence and doing prevantive as well.

So if he follows that procedure driving it like its stolen while keeping everything maintained is better then driving normal and doing stuff here and there like rest of 98% or when it breaks.

Drive it hard
Last owner babied the engine and it consumed oil

I drive it very hard, redline 3-4 times a day and now it doesnt smoke at all and doesnt consume oil and idle is better

I am a bit out of touch, as our 13+ yr old '01 had a ~$48Gs sticker, but did a 2006 4.8 really cost "$90k"?

20 miles each way, in northern winters, may not be enough for a full warm.

Pages of threads on cold weather ills; these cars like 'perfect temps', I guess.

Price for 4.8is with most options somewhere around 74-75k, add taxes,
Dealer fee crap and some other things and may be only 5-10g off

Or did the OP pay 90 k for a seven year old vehicle?

OP: disagree with your point that you drive it long enough to boil off the moisture. Your photos are proof to the contrary. Is 20 m referring to minutes or miles? What does oil temperature get to, and how long does it stay there?
