Ya its not a big deal, rain-x or wax does a good job of keepin it clear enough to see, il see if i can fix it before i replace it, hopefully the 50/50 acetone and atf works.

Don't replace it. Go outside, take WD 40 or something similar, apply it as you move the assembly on its hinge towards you and back again.

Do it for 5 minutes, clean the brown rust that will come out, and repeat as much as you can.

If you want I will take a pic of the exact area you have to spray.
