95M3Gretchen_&_06X5Rolf is on a distinguished road
apparent loss of traction and flickering 4x4 dash light - hard cornering @ high speed

Anyone else had this happen? During spirited driving on backroads, I'll approach a hard turn and if the conditions are right I will accelerate through the turn - because we're driving BMWs and they handle as they should! But on 3 instances in the last few weeks Rolf stumbled, losing apparent traction. It only happens for a second or two, only during the hard turn and only if accelerating, it's as if you've run over a patch of loose gravel in the middle of a paved turn. The 4x4 indicator on the dash flickers for a second and then all is well again. The first time it happened it was such a surprise I pulled over, thinking I'd blown a control arm bushing or blown a tire...the second time I checked the tires thinking maybe the fronts are getting bald, the third time I just listened and watched like a mechanic would. I'm thinking maybe the traction control sensor is dropping the ball, so the next spirited drive I'll turn off the stability control button and see if it happens again. Rolf is a 2006 3.0 with the 6 speed and is treated like a king - except I will admit I forget I'm driving him and think I'm driving my M3, so 'spirited' does become quite spirited.
