Painting Kidney Grilles
What is the best technique? Wet sand the chrome lip down (which grit?), tape the interior part, primer then paint? Will that be a matte finish without the clear coat? I don't want a glossy look. How should it hold up?
I remember doing almost no prep on a t-bird grille i had and it looked good and held up for a long time (as long as I owned it). It had a nice matte look. My other option is to plasti-dip them dark grey (anthracite), the same color I am doing my rims in. Anyone have any pics of dark grey trim? I'll probably plasti-dip the rest of the chrome trim eventually as well.
