False trigger mode?!

Good day!

I've search all the terms I can think of to find the article I saw once about having a remote on one BMW pushed (X number) of times that will cause other BMW's in the area to go into some lockout mode... I was putting a new roundel sticker on my 04 key fob and I must have triggered this function in my 02... I can hit the lock button on the 02, but it just chirps the alarm once, then twice... BUT doesn't unlock or even cycle the locks...

Does anyone know where this post is, or have the procedure I need to do to reset my 02? I tried push and hold lock... Push and hold unlock... Turn the key (in door) to lock and unlock... Hold the key (in door) in lock and unlock...

I waited over an hour without doing anything... Is there a way I have to stand or something?? Hop on one leg all the way around the X with a finger on my nose? UGH!!!

It's not a big deal right now... I don't need to use it, but it is in the way of the garage door... I had to squeeze the 04 out of the garage, doing a 12 point turn...

Thanks all!!

Cheers!!!

EDIT:::: This would be good to know, but my situation was a weak vehicle battery... I finally got into the vehicle...

I have just gotten so use to the vehicle telling me my headlights are on, I keep forgetting to make sure they are off when I exit the vehicle... I have to find a better LCM or reprogram the replacement one again... It works for now, but some features still aren't right... The "reminder the lights are on" is one of those functions...

Thanks all!!!

wpoll will become famous soon enough
As someone on this forum once said, William - "the 5h!t that can break on these cars....!"

Glad you got it sorted.

I gotta stop reading these sort of threads too - it's getting hard to sleep at night. Mind you, with two VW Golf cars in the family as well, the X5 seems positively robust!
