Is this Hitch Wiring Connector???

Trying to install a factory hitch wiring kit instead of the universal splice-kaboom method. And found this connector in the back of the spare tire area. Would this be the one for the kit which is ONLY sold from Bavauto.com for $179 ?

Thanks for the input!!!

Pix look different than my 06, which has the module mounted on a divider panel behind [rear side] of the spare. Take a look at the .pdf of the install instructions, if you don't have a set, on the first page of the long thread [which contains a couple of my posts, if you can't find it] on finding and installing the OEM hitch. It is a module you have to add in this location ......

Yes, that's the one Bavauto kit also includes. Please see pic below. My only question is, which plug goes to which?

The module has 15 pins where the connector in my car only has 12. So it's a no match here. Wonder which it will connect to.

Thanks, Riggo.

that is a connector that runs from the back side of the front wall (as pictured) to the battery compartment, where another connector is present, to be plugged into the trailer module. The pictured connector connects to the harness that feeds through a hole in the body and routes outside, to the round connector for the trailer.

FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much sir!

I will search for the "other" side of the connector which will connect the trailer module. Thanks!

Did you just order from bav? I tried ordering from them and they said it was on back order with no expected delivery date. They had 15 orders from as far back as May that were unfulfilled.

WHAT?!?!?!!!!!!!!!

If that's the case, I better off ordering that sucker from somewhere else. Let me know if you have any alternative source.

Thanks!

Ahh. So you have t gotten it yet. I emailed my local dealer. But I don't have high hopes. Bav said they are waiting on the dealer to send them their order so I doubt anyone is going to have the kit.

Hey, I called my buddy at BMW Bloomfield NJ, and they'll get the parts for me around this weekend. $175 shipped. Sometimes, it's all about who you know.

Let me know if you also need one, I can hook you up. Cheers!
