What is this in my center console?
When I took the interior out for my HU install, I noticed this port in the top part of the arm rest. On the left side (LHD) of the arm rest by the pen tray. Was wondering if it was an AUX port? I have no clue but do know there were 3 separate wires coming and going to it?

That looks like it could possibly be an aux jack.

Connect your phone/ipod to it and see if you get an AUX option from the source menu.

Ditto...looks like something a PO (previous owner) installed and is probably an aux jack. It's definitely no anything OE (original equipment).

Wasn't there an option that had an antenna (aerial) in that position?

You can just see the antenna in this image...



But yeah, if it's got three wires and looks like a 3.5mm jack, i'd go with what has been suggested - a PO-installed Aux jack.

I think you nailed it, Wayne. The wiring suggests it is factory and an aux cord did not fit. And I just installed the Xtrons HU, so I doubt it would integrate.

Do you think that was for the cell phone? An additional antenna? Pretty slick!

Yes it's a phone antenna. Mine has the wired phone and it is still able to receive text messages
