Door Re and Re , any tricks or tips?

Hello ,
I am looking to replace my two passenger doors, I have two door shells, which I had repainted to repair any dings and scratches that were there.
My question is to anyone who has done it, how long approximately did it take? I am planning a weekend to complete the task. Any one have any tips or tricks to make it go easier??
I am hoping to wax and polish the door shells before i put any of the parts from the old doors back on. (the paint is over a month old already and well cured!)
I do have a Bentley manual and plan on following the directions in there along with the TIS online stuff.
I know to disconnect the neg terminal before removing the airbag (which will be one of the last things i remove before the actual door itself, as to avoid any SRS error codes.
I think i will be fabricating a bracket to hold the door and mount it to my transmission jack. that will make the attachement a bit easier,
I suspect that the "loaded doors" will be quite heavy (the empty shells are pretty heavy already!) so a jack which can tilt would come in handy when i attach the doors!
I can only imagine how many small clips and fasteners i will need to replace!
anyhow, i plan on photographing the adventure! and will post the results after!

Ok, so my greatest tip for removing and replacing doors, is, the hinge pin unbolts !!!! Epic discovery!!!!! thank you BMW engineer who invented that!!! instead of having to realign hinges its a simple matter of unbolt, and slip out the door, and slip the new one in! super happy!!!
BUT, now I have an airbag light, "resistance too low" msr06 error, WHAT!! I even disconnected the battery, left the doors open to draw out all the stored energy that might have been in any capacitors but now, I have an airbag light on ! What did I miss?? are the connectors one time use only??
I don't want to put on my door panels until I sort this out! My DIS program (Romanian) wont let me clear the code! it comes right back again!!
Any hints?? should I get a new connector and short length of wiring harness?? or should I add in a resistor?? maybe start with a 2 ohm and work up! maybe run some kind of potentiometer!!?? I don't want to test the resistance across the airbag, I don't really want to have it blow up in my face!!!!
any ideas how to rectify the airbag issue?? I used the same harness, the same airbag and same connectors, tried unplugging and replugging, no luck!
any help??

and the other thing is - the doors' electric wiring is wired via a connector, so you can take the door off, and just disconnect the wires, instead of fishing them out and then back in...

Is it the same on all other cars too??

So I still have my airbag issues. Computer says that there MRS06 too low resistance in the door airbag. went to the dealership, spoke with a tech half my age, just out of school, all he had, was unplug the battery, and connect the neg wire and the pos wire together (no battery in between) he suggested that fixes about 90% of problems, well I must have one of the 10% problems then, we checked out the grounds, all good, even added a ground wire from the door to the body (ran it from the harness bolt on the body side through the harness rubber boot, along the door to lower bolt on the window actuator, now I have AMAZING grounding from the body to the door, yes over kill, but I cant figure what the airbag issues was! even used the same harness, meticulously checked for cracks, cuts or abrasions, nothing, perfect, same airbag, same wires different door, that's it!
everything else works perfect, except the airbag!

any one have any tips?? might even go try adding in a resistor! hmmm
how many ohms would be too much resistance!?

did you try unplugging and plugging the airbag connector back in to the air bag .just incase it wasn`t plugged in properly? and then clear the error code. also another thing you could do is by pass the air bag with a resistor and see if that works. I`m trying to find what size risistor you need but can`t find anything for the bmw x5 door air bag .I know when I pass the front airbags in the knee bolster area in vehicles when I install handcontrols the resistors are usually around 2-5 ohms . (I say to do this just to check and make sure the airbag connector is fine, or plugged in all the way.) hope this makes sense?

Makes sense to me, I will try reconnecting and failing that it's resistor time!!! Might end up renaming my X5 the Borg ... Because resistance is futile ! Lol
