Check engine light does not turn on

Hi All,

2002 BMW X5 3.0i

Please Please help!!!!!!!!!

My smog insepction failed as "Service engine soon" light does not turn on during initial startup. My mechanic checked & there are no other error codes except service engine light issue.

I removed the instrument cluste & there are 4 light bulbs & all are working. In the left corner only "Battery" & "Oil" lights turn on.

I ran the hidden menu OBD onboard computer test (test # 2) and during the process i dont see either service engine soon, Battery or Oil lights turning on. Is there any other test which checks these 3 lights?

Please suggest what else can be wrong? fuse?

You sure it wasn't covered with a black tape. It happened before.

Yes, sure it is not covered with black tape as i used to see this light turn on couple of months back
