Gearbox X5 4.4i, shift position hard?

Hey guys, My name is Javier, I'm from Spain and I have a BMW x5 4.4i 286cv '01. In spain not there is a lot of information as it is a heavy car with a big engine and few were sold by their high consumption.

Wanted to ask about the gearbox 5HP24Z, my car has only 65000km and the gearbox works perfectly, makes no noise nor loses power, nor in D nor in sequentially, but I also have a BMW 330ci with the gearbox 5HP19Z and shift position (P-R-N-D) is much softer than the 5HP24Z, then wanted to know if the gearbox is a bit hard 5HP24Z in P-R-N-D position changes or has/will have a problem (oil atf change?)

Thanks and sorry for my english!

You mean it is hard to move gear shifter?
I have had many BMWs with different auto transmission and shifters were never hard to operate. Do I feel the difference between X5 and other? Maybe a little but not to the point of concern or to be noticeable. Currently have E60 and X5 with same 6HP26z transmission and both are "tunned" different but shifting "feel" is the same. Check shifter mechanism if is properly lubricated. (Maybe somebody spilled a Coke on your shifting mechanism in X5?

Thanks for answering

Yes, i feel that it is a little hard to move gear shifter

I have a 330ci e46 with 5HP19Z and 520d e60 with 6HP19Z, and the e46 and e60 are softer than e53 (5HP24Z). it is not excessively hard but I feel the difference when I change car, for this motive I wanted to know if it might be possible that he needed a change the oil atf, or it is not related and it is that. I will look if the mechanism shifter is lubricated correctly

Me spilt nothing in the change never.

Thanks!!!
