Car wont start need help!!!

I just put in a new battery because my car needed one and it would start rev the rpm and die right away . now It wont do anything . the starter turn but the engine wont crank or spark . I have to turn the key off in order for the starter to stop . I put it on my inpa and here is what I got for faults . anyone know what's going on?

Most likely the ignition switch needs to be replaced if its not cranking, i just had to replace mine at 77k, it happens if you have a lot of keys on the batch that you start the car with.

The starter turn, but the engine won't crank sounds like a bad bendix on the starter, were the starter is not engaging the flywheel.

You need to replace the starter.

did you try tapping the starter. I know it would work for me years ago on my nova .much easier to get at too.

I figured it out turn out the ews3 needed to be resynced with my key. I did it on inpa but now something is happening. it starts but runs very ruff around 300-600 rpm . if I hold that gas down it will rev slowly but if I let it go there is a backfire through the intake . it sounds like a huge pop coming from the intake. and then shuts down . any ideas?

If the EWS was out of synch, you shouldn't be able to turn the engine over since the EWS prevents the signal to the starter.
