Computer Connector/Software

Tried looking, but hard to when you don't know what its called and can't get more specific than the thread title.

This is what connects to the port under the steering wheel, and then the software on the computer.

Can I get it? How much is it if so?

It would sure save some trips to the dealer to read error codes. Also they like to moan about my aftermarket parts on the car and how they're "bad" and I should only use BMW oem equipment. (So I don't have to listen to that either)

Theres a romanian guy on ebay which we all buy from, he has software and the cables needed. 35$ is the basic and works with the e53, but you need different cable for the 07+ and stuff.

His ebay id is "eugenmosmonea":
eugenmosmonea | eBay
Hes great and responds instantly with any questions you may have

But i also found this as well:
BMW USB OBD Diagnostic Cable Inpa Ediabas NCS Expert Dis V57 SSS V32 GT1 Progman | eBay

This will allow you to read codes and code parts of the car such as light functions, sounds, windows up with key and such as well as adjust suspension height and stuff.
Buuut you need to learn how to use it...

If you cant then id just get a regular code scanner.

Great! Thanks.

What is the difference between the $35 and $150 kit? Does the $150 one work on e70 too?

The 36% once covers models up to march 2007. But the 80$ one and the 150$ one covers pretty much everything.
