anyone have issues with slow windows?
It was always slow. finally a couple months ago, it started popping fuses so I just replaced the regulator/motor assembly. even with the new regulator/motor assembly, upward travel is very slow as if its dragging against something. I dont see anywhere to adjust the regulator itself or the window inside the track. Only thing I can think of is maybe the window channel felt itself? I've looked at it and dont really see anything that is bound/crimped/etc. I had the window loose in the door without the regulator hooked up and manually pushing it up, I can do it with one finger from one hand (dont need extra force so no real resistance). the action on the regulator/motor assembly unhooked is the same as for the driver side window as well. anyone had a similar issue and found a simple solution that was hidden from them? I'm kind of at a loss. Its as if, once I get the window hooked back to the regulator, it changes the angle of the window inside the track so that it rubs on something... I know this will lead to issues as it'll put strain on the motor and eventually burn it out...most likely on a rainy day... |

The dredded window regulators....they are a MF'er.
If you haven't looked at them, check the black plastic clips that hold the window in place. They can break or partially break and cause the window to tilt slightly and drag. If all is good there...make sure the felt track is free of debris and the window sits nice and square. After that....punt! Just kidding....the motor could be wearing out or the worm gear has something binding it. Unhook the motor from the regulator and run it to see if it has trouble, too? Good Luck!
