Bye Bye X5

Sadly it's good bye X5. (Now to be for sale at only 66,000 miles)
We did quite enjoy the CPO 06 3.0 (bought in 09) but it had its problems....
BMW refused to CPO warranty the drivers door handle replacement, the tail light one replacement headlight igniter and an ignition switch that left me stranded. ($1500 worth of bills)
I had been looking for an 11 or 12 CPO (3.0) I could could not what I was looking for, pretty particular with colors and equipment.
A little bit smaller than the X5 but having taken delivery only 3 days ago it seems quite nice....a bit more "complicated" than older older technology Bimmer, but we are learning...(500 miles so far in 3 days)
There were 2 other "deciders" I am really quite annoyed that BMW has done away with the oil dip stick, and the spare tire.
So, for $1300, and $525 a month for 36 months we (she) is driving a 2014 GLK
Will we be back ??
Meanwhile I (35 year member of the BMWCCA) will still be driving my 01 Z3
More later
Daniel

Yeah, actually the X5 was the wife's, and so far (500 miles in 2 days) she likes the GLK as much...so I guess I really shouldn't bitch....

My wife went from e39 to 2011 335xi, then to 2012 mb c300, and she wanted to go back to bimmer, so she has 2012 335i... mb just wasn't the same for hr, but boy oh, it was twice the headturner any of our bimmers ever were

Daka,

Keep us posted about the GLK versus the X....

My "wifey" wants a c-class but I won the debate, I got her 328xi
Now the same debate MB SUV with an additional wild card Audi SUV.
Keeping our options open on ME WINNING the debate jk

I bet it will crack you up when you finally open the hood of a benz (different location of the parts.. totally different engineering mind set).
