a little confused about a 16:9 Retrofit

I have a non-dsp, high MID and I wanted to see if it was possible to just retrofit the 16:9 screen, not the tuner, or nav components? I just use my stock bluetooth and Sirius, and I have a Mediabridge to handle my ipod. Radio is not necessary.

Do I need to run everything to the back for this, or can I just throw in a screen and be done (without the tuner....). Most of the articles I've read discuss retrofitting the NAV, but I dont need that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it runs off the Nav computer

its super confusing. the install instructions talk about having to rewire harnesses, etc... I'm surprised, its really the only thing on this car that BMW didnt set up to be easily swappable/retrofittable.

You are correct. The NAV computer supplies or coordinates (in the case of a TV tuner, DVD, or rear camera) the video feed needed to navigate with the screen and buttons.
