You have to cut them open, cut the silicone.

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
Get a utility knife with a hooked roofing blade and go to town.

Good luck!

I used a hair dryer to heat the back of the headlight assembly where it seals the lens so I could pry it away enough to get an exacto knife started and then cut or scraped along the seal to get it open. I heated the back each time it got to tight to get the exacto knife started. It's not hard. Don't worry about bending the assembly as can re-heat it to get it straightened out. What you will need is time and patience.

Where do I need to look for the manufacture date? Do I have to take it out?
