Another Craigslist find.
Pick this up the other day for 5 bucks.
 It was fully charged when I got it. That is one heavy battery.

I would think that battery was removed from a vehicle because it's shot (it's used, discoloration by neg terminal).
You only measured it's surface charge, a load test will verify the condition (and if you purchased a good unit or core exchange).

Brought it to Autozone and they tested the battery with their load tester. Tested fine. Couldn't find any date code on the battery. Supposedly it was from a X3.

The negative post had the numbers 35 and 11 stamped on it. I hooked the battery to my PORSCHE Ctek maintainer/charger and will charge/maintain it through the summer. Will install the new to me battery in the fall. The Ctek maintainer/charger has the option to pulse charge a battery to help desulfate the battery.
