Same air compressor '05 4.4 and '06 4.8is?

Hi all - my question is: are the air suspension compressors in a 2005 4.4 (rear only air springs) and my 2006 4.8is (all four corners air springs) the same? A quick visual inspection seems like they are. Mine in the '06 appears to be dead I would like to try and drop in the working '05 as a quick swap before moving on to other solutions as the numerous threads on the air suspension system suggest. Thanks for your comments and info!

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
4 corner air compressors ARE DIFFERENT PARTS than the rear only air compressors.

Ditto...a simple quick search of the parts database (like realoem.com or bmwfans.info) would reveal that they (EHC {single axle} & EHC II {dual axle}) have 2 different part nbrs...which means there's something different about them.

Thanks very much guys, I appreciate it. It should have dawned on me to check a parts supplier site. With the swap option out, I think I will try the rebuild kit that others have had success with. My compressor seems to be out of spec and is throwing the flag.
