axle won't poke through after cv boot replacement

Any tricks to this?

Pm davintosh. He and I made a tool to pull the cv axle back in last year , it's tough without it.

Some people take a block of wood over the hub and hammer like Thor to get it through but I'm not the biggest fan of that

Yeah, get the BMW tool made for pulling the CV axle through the hub. Did you clean the splines in the hub and CV joint?

Or you can grind down an axles nut and weld it to an impact socket so it can be threaded inside the hub. I'm on my phone but I will post a pic tomorrow

I have used a block of wood and hammer it before, zero issues.
What helps is get a wire brush and clean the axle splines well, then apply some grease on the splines.

I made my own tool using a socket and the 36-mm nut, see thread #42 below:

I neglegted to clean both, to everyone don't skip this, it took alot of extra time in my haste
