2005 x5 4.8is telephone and blue tooth

I have a 2005 4.8is x5 that has a bluetooth module in the rear under the cd changer, I have the buttons for the BMW assist on the roof near the sunroof controls but I have no telephone option on my navigation. Any ideas how to activate this? I also have the r/to button on my steeri wheel as well as the face speaking.

You'll need: the PK Code for your X5's BT module & know how to search for BT devices on your smart phone. Step 3 is where you search for your BMW from your smart phone...it should appear as BMW XXXXX (the Xs = the last 5 digits of your VIN).


KL R = ignition position 1
KL 15 = ignition position 2

Once you've paired your smart phone and the X5...you'll need to learn how to use the VR (voice recognition) feature especially if TELEPHONE doesn't appear in the nav display. Did someone pull the fuse for the phone?

Or perhaps BT won't work if the TELEPHONE option isn't available.

That's what I wAs trying to figure out. The telephone button isn't there. The BMW assist buttons don't do
Anything. I tried pairing several times and there is no blue tooth detected.
