I am thinking now of retrofitting OEM Xenon headlamp units into my X5 to replace the Halogen units. A quick call to the dealer however noted that I had an import car (2003) and Xenon units couldn't be retrofitted.
Dealer was sketchy to say the least about why this wasn't possible (must be their inbuilt hatred of import cars)
Anyone done this to a pre facelift model - was it easy?
Do the Xenon headlamp units have built in ballasts ?(as opposed to separate ballasts with HID kits)
Is the wiring the same when connecting the new units?
