Bosch OEM MAF sensor, $136 shipped from Rockauto

My truck lost power the other day and threw 73 MAF code. I've carefully checked all vacuum lines and MAF itself along the wiring.

I also did some more checking with my AutoEnginuity scan tool and it all leads to MAF. It's original with 94K miles on it so I'm not too surprised it to go.

I'm also aware of claims of cleaning it but in my experience the internal elements inside the sealed part go bad due to heat, age and stress and there is nothing you can do other than buying new unit. Also, there is some success of replacing the sensor without the housing with VW unit or similar but I'm not much about to experiment with such a sensitive part.

So if you're shopping for one, this is about as good deal as you can find. Just make sure to use 5% off coupon easily found on web. It basically covers cost of shipping. Amazon has same or slightly better deal but I have to pay taxes now since they built huge warehouse few miles from my home.

Will report back after I install it.

Correct for I6, but Bosch for V8.

Brought a Bosch relay for my Porsche and it came in a Porsche box, but the relay was made in China. This was from a Porsche dealer.

AutoZone used to sell batteries that were branded Bosch to the commercial businesses- like garages, shadetree mechanics, etc. (they might still) They did this bc the garage customer would see a Duralast- AutoZone's house brand- and then see that the shop had charged more than they could get it at the AutoZone down the street.

The secret? It was the exact same battery as Duralast. And DieHard. And like 25 other brands.

Because of my setup I have trouble with the MAF fairly frequently. I am able to successfully clean the MAF. Each time the miles between cleanings gets less. The only reason I clean them anymore is to verify the MAF is bad before I buy a new one.
