so cold my door wont lock

so i woke up this mornin ready to go to work/school and i couldnt slam my door shut. it was 14 degree when i woke up. wtf! had to blast the heater once the car was in normal operating temperature. i was 2 hour late. couldnt drive on 95 holding the door and steering, lol! is there anyway to prevent this in the future. even at extreme temperature, other cars i own never did this to me.

Yes it was so cold this morning also up here that I can't roll my windows up and down. In your case though some good lock deicer would do the trick.

Take the X to the dealer and have them check your lock actuator.

Jeez, cold weather seems so harsh! I've lived in Texas and California my whole life. I don't know what I would do if I lived in that weather!

I've had this happen to me. Also, when it's cold out, my key remote won't fully unlock my driver's side door. Sometimes I have to physically put the key into the driver's side door. I suppose it's the door lock actuator, just hasn't bothered me enough to get it fixed yet.
