Passenger window horrible noise.

I just installed a new window regulator / motor on my passenger side. It sounds horrible!!! Lol... Has anyone ran into this before? The regulator was a cheap aftermarket that I am starting to regret purchasing. Could the window be out of alignment? Is BMW the only brand to go with? Any help would be appreciated!

Here's a video from my iphone:

Also I noticed the motor seems to be right against the door frame:

That's either just the sound of the motor or the motor could be touching the car and amplifying the sound

Thanks for the reply! I am waiting for new motor, hopefully this does the trick! I might have to put something between the motor and door or replace the regulator.... Again!!!! This time with a legit one not a cheap after market.

I used an aftermarket regulator I got on Amazon with no problem. The original motor seemed fine. Switch had gone bad - new switches have a drain hole on the bottom, so I guess someone figured out that the do get a little snow/rain on them from time to time.

I don't recall the motor touching the inside metal part of the door - I guess I would inspect it carefully to make sure the regulator was seated correctly and not out of kilter and pushing the motor against the door frame.

Something does not seem right about it, the fact that the motor makes that noise and its pressed right against the door. I have changed these regulators many times in the past for other cars and never ran into any problems until the X5... Do you recall what regulator on amazon you purchased? My next question is how could it not be installed correctly? all the screw holes lined up with the bolts and the window seems to slid through the inner track. Thanks again for your response David.X5!

Is it touching the door? I'm sure that's why it sounds like that, if so. Or more likely it's a tiny gap between the motor and the door, and when the motor is on, it's vibrating just enough to contact the door rapidly and repeatedly. Where'd you get the motor from? It could be the wrong part?
