PPI Found Broken Motor Mount Braket....05 4.8is
I am more than likely be picking up a new to me 05 4.8is next week, it has 80k miles, Imola red with Alcantara, with a ton of maintenance work performed in the past year. The guy had an aftermarket warranty on it, and had several things fixed including driver's front air strut, vacuum pump, new rear tires, and the biggest one was a valve seal job. All the work was performed at the dealership. I have a friend that works there and does work for me on the side (I've had 3 M3's and have an M5 now), and I asked him to look it over. The only issues he found was the vacuum pump was leaking again and the driver's side engine bracket was broken. The vacuum pump was fixed again this week, but he gave the bad news on the bracket, that it is an absolute pita to get to and wanted almost $1k to swap it out (and that's him doing it on the side).
I DIY most things, just got finished doing a clutch job and diff bushings on my M5, so I am probably going to tackle this myself. I just want to know what will need to come out so I can access to the bracket to swap it out. I believe I will need an engine hoist, which a friend of mine has, and pretty sure the front subframe will have to be removed.
