Why put anything else but stock shocks on the X? What would be the advantage?

Like how Monroe put "OE Spec" in the name oespectrum. Makes people think they're produced to OE Specs without actually stating it's an OE spec unit. Slick marketing.
Last time I tried Monroe shocks was in the '80s, on a '79 WS6 Trans Am MT. The worn out shocks were better then the new Monroe units. Drove the car to retailer and "bounce tested" with manager, he agreed they sucked, he swapped the first set thinking they were defective, so I actually installed 2 set. WORST SHOCKS EVER!!! Went Bilstein, MASSIVE improvement.
