LUK REPSET CLUTCH KIT - Stick Shift

Hello Guys,

Has anyone installed or has any experience with the LUK REPSET CLUTCH KIT? Luk Repset Clutch Kit Set 2001 2003 BMW x5 3 0i Sport Utility SUV 3 0L i6 E53 | eBay

I'm planning on replacing the pressure plate and clutch disk on my 2001 E53 with 150k. I'm trying to decide whether to go OEM or Aftermarket, any suggestions?

Cheers

Is your clutch going at all? If not I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm fairly certain that LUK is the OE manufacturer, so if you can find LUK clutch kit without the BMW box, you'll save a few bucks I'm sure. Would not hesitate to use LUK

Thanks Ricky,

Here is my dilemma, I've had it for almost 7 years and have never replaced it and no service records from previous owner showing it was replaced either. There are no signs of clutch slipping, just that lately I feel that when pressing the clutch pedal is a bit too low. But it shifts fine, I'm just thinking about preventive maintenance, since I'm almost positive it's never been replaced and the E53 has now 152k miles.

Cheers

If you don't have issues with slipping or engagement I would leave it. I'd be more inclined to check the hydraulics and do a clutch flush/bleed, make sure your master/slave cylinders are in good shape.

Thanks Ricky, will definitely inspect and possibly replace the hydraulics an do the Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) delete while I'm at it.

Have you done the CDV delete? did you replace it with the modified by Zeckhausen Racing? Are there noticeable improvements in using theirs vrs none at all?

Cheers

You don't have to use the Zeckhausen valve, that was actually made so that the modification looked stock in case you needed it for warranty purposes.

You can unbolt the CDV and screw the hard line direct to the slave cylinder, doing a CDV delete is a FREE mod nowadays
