NYC/NJ Dyno tuning the E53

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone knew a shop (I'd like to stay away from dealerships) around the NYC and NJ area where they truly know how to tune our rides. I know Dinan has their reflash and the recommended shop closest to me is MINHS. I was looking through their website and I didn't see anything about a dyno. Unless someone can clarify that. I would like to get the car tune on a dyno and not just a quick reflash. If anyone can give me some info, that'll be awesome.

Prestige BMW in Ramsey NJ is also a Dinan authorized dealer.

I've said it once and I've said it again, not sure what you are tuning but if its the M54, the Jim Conforti Shark Injector is a more aggressive tune than Dinan. The Dinan tune is $100 less but you have to have it flashed at a dealer and pay an hour's worth of labor for it. as well.

It's necessary to have your battery voltage steady while uploading the flash, you don't want a voltage drop to brick the DME by accident. I mean its probably a very small chance but why risk it

If it were me, I'd want that margin of safety so I'd probably hook mine up to a charging device while uploading the flash.

you can get a regular battery tender (i use one with my motorcycle) and that should keep the voltage steady. Or borrow a charger/tender from someone you know, they aren't hard to come by

Thanks guy for the replies. Well I really just to smoothen the feel of the E53. I have a 2001. I don't know how well its tuned close to stock. I've been looking at different options. At the end of the day I would just really want to retune A/F ratio and see where this truck is at interms of just running really really smooth. I feel like the I get pauses through the power delivery. Hopefully you guys understand what I am trying to say lol.

How many miles on your E53 Engz?

The M54 should probably have the Vanos seals done around 150k or so as those get weak and the vehicle tends to stumble in the midragne
