I just replaced the two rear airbags in my 13 year old BM Trouble with new Arnott airbags and the total cost was just just a little bit more than 200 bucks. They should last me the rest of my ownership with the X. I don't see why you will want to go through all the hassle of going through the conversion, it not just replacing parts but you must recode the X to eliminate the height sensors.
