I have four 2 ton and four 3 ton Torin Big Red jackstands. I really like them for the price. I have yet to see them warp, rust, chip, ect in the few years I have had them. Some even sit outside for extended periods exposed to the elements.

I have not yet, but need to look into the rubber pad that goes into the jacking point on the X5.

For the jack, I put a hockey puck on the pad itself for protection.

I made some aluminum mounts for my jack stands that work very well when using the plastic bmw pads in the chassis. I removed the pins tho and only install them when needed. I think it makes sense to let it drain

I have the same from Harbor Freight (my jack might be slightly longer though). Works great! Low profile so it works well for my other cars and still lifts very high for my SUVs.

I did.

All the sub $100 jacks are produced and/or assembled in China.

I picked up two US produced/assembled Tire Rack jacks (with seal rebuild kits) in the late '90s, cost around $700 (still have one new in the unopened box).
