No worries - my little one just turned 1 year so we're in the same boat. We got one of the Clicktight seats and it's pretty sweet. It's literally as easy to install as it shows in the videos.

The seat base was narrow enough to fit in the rear seats of the 911 Targa. If you ever seen or sat in the rear seat of a 911 PORSCHE you will know what I mean.

I use an evenflo symphony 65 car seat cost was around $200 from toys r us and it fits good in the back. Super easy to take in and out only problem is that it's heavy but I can tell if something happens my daughter isn't going anywhere

If you care about the leather seat in your X, I would place a towel under the car seat so when you go to buckle your kids in seat, the sliding of the seat car will not abrade the leather. Also when the kid throw up the towel will catch most of the puke that didn't go into the car seat.

Will do.i noticed with the one I have now the seat is not the best looking after the tracks leave their marks in it and slide side to side...I was thinking a memory foam pad but towel works too...I'm leaning towards the Porsche seat for now.
I guess my question was how did you like the seat in terms of material quality, front to rear adjustment-reclining (for when the child is sleeping -I don't want heads hanging loose ) and overall sturdiness? I am willing to pay for it but it better be good and not pay half the money just for the name.
I'd also like to test it in the car prior to buying (to make sure it fits good)but I guess that's not an option with the dealer..once you order it it's yours...
Not all cars are the same and seats don't sit the same in all cars...hmm

If a car seat is installed correctly, it wouldn't move at all. BUt they sell pads that go under the seats

I have one of these under the car seat in my X. The bottom is pretty rigid and does a great job protecting the seat from scuffs and indentations.
